| Roy Prevost News - December 2010 |
My wife Sarah and I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2011.
I am more convinced than ever that despite the gloom and doom of the mass media, the world is still filled with wonderful people who "celebrate what is right with the world" and reinforce that message every day.
Here is a video that speaks to that message. I only wish I could have been present at this event. It took place in Ontario, Canada and took weeks of preparation.
Let's count our blessings!
Here are some helpful hints on how to protect yourself when accessing WiFi in your daily activities. You can protect yourself from hackers and snoopers by following these simple steps.
Tips to Foil Wi-Fi Snoops
- Don't use open Wi-Fi networks. If you must, when signing into Facebook, Twitter, your email or other websites that require user authentication, make sure the Web address starts with https. Some sites automatically default to this. Others like Facebook and Twitter don't, but you can choose that option.
- To switch to a secure connection go to the address bar and add an "s" to the http. When you bookmark sites, ensure they are the ones starting with https.
- You can use Firefox plug-in Force-TLS to force sites to use https, which makes your data transferred between sites unreadable to snoops. Search for Force-TLS at https//addons.mozilla.org. Any website you visit must have the option of a secure connection or it won't work.
- When signing into any networks that require authentication in a new wireless location, say at a coffee shop, make sure you have closed any online accounts before you log onto the network. Then sign in again, making sure it's over a https connection.
Last week, I attended a 4 day bootcamp as an attendee and met up with my good friend, Brian Tracy. He provided me with this very valuable strategy on how to achieve your goals.
The Seven Step Process to Achieve Goals Faster and Easier
First, decide exactly what you want to achieve.
Second, write it down CLEARLY and in as much detail as you can.
Third, set a specific deadline. If it is a large goal, break it down into sub-deadlines and write them down in order.
Fourth, make a list of everything you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. As you think of new items, add them to your list.
Fifth, organize the items on your list into a plan by placing them in the proper sequence and priority.
Sixth, take action immediately on the most important thing you can do in your plan. This is VERY important.
Seventh, do something every day that moves you toward to attainment of one or more of your important goals.
Remember that fewer than 3 percent of adults have written goals and plans that they work on every single day. When you sit down and write our your goals, you move yourself in to the top 3 percent of people in our society. And you will soon start to get the same type of results that they do.
Study and review your goals EVERY DAY to be sure that they are still your most important goals. You will find yourself deleting goals that are no longer as important as you once thought.
Whatever your goals are, plan them out thoroughly, on paper, and work on them every single day. This is the key to peak performance and maximum achievement.
I truly hope that the steps provided assist you in your journey toward health and in creating the life you choose. Setting goals is necessary if you are going to direct your life. May you be blessed with wisdom and love as you go about setting goals and achieving them!
The strategies presented above are abstracted from Brian Tracy's book Maximum Achievement. It is a book definitely worth purchasing and reading more than once. It will greatly improve your likelihood of reaching your goals.
Finally, I will be launching a new telewebinar series on "The Basics of Retail Selling" in January 2011 and will provide more details in a future newsletter.
To your success,
